IN PICTURES: BREDENKAMP IP ATTORNEYS ATTEND THE ANNUAL INTA CONFERENCE IN SINGAPORE
Marolien van Aardt, Karen Kitchen and Karel Bredenkamp represented Bredenkamp IP Attorneys at the 2023 annual International Trademark Association (INTA) conference in Singapore.
The conference was a resounding success, and we thoroughly enjoyed engaging with trademark attorneys, patent attorneys, and other IP professionals from around the globe. These foreign associates represent our own clients at their various intellectual property offices when our clients register patents, trademarks or designs in their countries or wish to enforce their IP rights abroad.
Of course, these international associates also rely on Bredenkamp IP Attorneys to represent their clients at the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) in South Africa as well as through our associate network in Africa, ARIPO and OAPI.
The INTA conference serves as a vital platform to enhance our existing relationships with foreign associates and to forge new realionships. This ensures that our valued clients receive the best possible advice and services when operating in foreign countries, and that Bredenkamp IP Attorneys are likewise instructed to act on behalf of foreign associates and their clients in South Africa and Africa. Many foreign associates entrust us with liaising on their behalf with associates in African countries.
Apart from in-person networking sessions held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore, we attended various receptions hosted by our esteemed foreign associates. We also attended lunch and dinner meetings at renowned restaurants, and even some informal meetings at local tourist attractions.
Singapore is an amazing city, boasting some of the best restaurants and botanical gardens we have ever encountered. The city’s impeccable cleanliness and near non-existent crime rate added to the overall delightful experience.
We eagerly await the upcoming 2024 INTA international conference in Atlanta, USA to embark on another enriching journey of knowledge and connections!
